Pack your bathers and your beach towels for a day at Saundersfoot Beach is a must. Lengthy golden sands with watersports on offer make this location a haven for those who adore being beachside. Paddle boarding and surfing, rock pooling and ball games or sunbathing with a good book - there’s plenty to enjoy at this golden coastline. If you want to escape the bigger crowds, venture to Glen Beach on the western side or Coppet Hall Beach on the eastern end.
Hikers can enjoy a ramble to the end of the Coast Path nearby at Amroth or if you’re after a more leisurely stroll, wander through the old railway tunnels and enjoy a spot of lunch at the Wisemans Bridge Inn.
Take a tour of the impressive coastal schooner boat by the harbour where you can also watch the mooring boats come and go. Learn about the old coaling history of the town at Saundersfoot Heritage Centre, take a sea safari Saundersfoot boat trip or explore on two wheels with a bike ride around this seaside destination.
A host of shops and eateries line the seafront and harbourside with MamGu Welshcakes cafe, The Stone Crab restaurant, Outer Reef Surf Store, The Silver Lily gift shop and The Royal Oak to name a few.
You can also take in Saundersfoot events during your time in the town, a perfect opportunity for a quick overnight stay in the region. Saundersfoot Big Bang Weekend celebrates Halloween and Fireworks Night in the autumn followed by the infamous Saundersfoot New Years Day Swim in aid of charity a few months later. It’s an important course location for Long Course Weekend and Ironman Wales, and also hosts the Saundersfoot Triathlon each September.
